Everyone knows what a medicine ball is, right? Simply put, it’s a weighted ball used in the gym to perform a wide range of exercises. In fact, there are many types of medicine balls out there. Among them, we have the Slam Ball, which—as the name suggests—is designed to be slammed to the ground safely and effectively. These are not the kind of balls meant to be thrown in the air and caught—like Wall Balls—and definitely not to be confused with the ultra-heavy Slam Balls for Strongman training. So, what makes Slam Balls special? They’re specifically designed with two key purposes in mind: first, when they’re slammed to the ground, they must withstand impact without damage—neither to the ball nor to the floor. Their job is to absorb the impact without any issues. Second—and this is especially true for Lacertosus® Strongman Slam Balls—they are built to not bounce. No matter how hard you slam them, these medicine balls stay down. This is crucial for safety—both for the person using them and for those nearby. And with Strongman Slam Balls, that’s even more important, since we’re talking about extremely heavy medicine balls!

Slam Balls: The Heaviest Medicine Balls for Strongman Workouts

Yes, when it comes to Strongman training, we’re usually talking about seriously heavy gym equipment. Standard Slam Balls typically range from 4 to 30 kilograms, and those are the weights used in our regular medicine ball line. But then… there are the Slam Balls specifically made for Strongman training—coming in at 40, 45, and 50 kilograms. As you can see below, these Strongman Slam Balls even look different. With a smooth surface and a diameter of 35 cm, these non-bouncing medicine balls are built from extra-thick, heavy-duty materials that make them extremely resistant to impact. Don’t be afraid to throw these with full force—they won’t break, and they definitely won’t bounce back. But keep in mind: Slam Balls over 30 kg are designed exclusively for Strongman training!
